Indian Visa FAQ And Information

There are a number of Indian Visa FAQs and Indian Visa Information you can use to ensure that your application is approved. For example, you may be wondering if you can visit Protected/Restricted/Cantonment areas. Well, you can. But you must remember that an eVisa is only valid for one entry.

eVisa is a single-entry visa

If you are an international traveler, you can apply for an eVisa to enter India. This electronic visa is valid for one or two entries and is very easy to obtain. It differs from the traditional visa, which requires more paper work and can be valid for a much longer period of time.

Compared to a traditional visa, an eVisa is cheaper and faster to process. There are two different variants of this electronic visa: the “eTourist” and the “eBusiness.” Both types of electronic visa can be obtained using the same online application form.

The eTourist eVisa allows travelers to visit India for 30 days for tourism purposes. This type of visa is valid for 30 days and allows you to stay in the country for that length of time. The eBusiness eVisa allows you to enter India multiple times for business meetings, conferences, negotiations, or other business activities. Both types of eVisas allow you to stay in India for 180 days in total.

It is non-extendable

If your Indian visa expires before your scheduled departure date, you can apply for an extension. However, you must be careful as multiple applications can delay the review and decision process. The government may also charge a penalty if you overstay your visa. To avoid such a situation, you can follow these simple steps to extend your Indian visa.

First of all, ensure that your passport is valid for travel. Second, make sure that you have a valid payment method before applying for an Indian visa. You can use a debit or credit card or a UnionPay or Paypal account.

It is non-convertible

An Indian visa is non-transferable and non-extendable. Tourist visas are issued for a specific period of time and cannot be renewed. If you are a journalist, your visa will be valid only for tourism purposes and cannot be converted. When applying for your visa, make sure to specify your purpose of travel.

If you intend to work in India, you must obtain an Employment Visa. Usually, this type of visa is only valid for six months. Besides, the period of this type of visa cannot be prolonged to more than 180 days without any registration formalities. If you intend to stay for longer, you must get a no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Health. Moreover, you must provide all the necessary documents at the time of application.

If you are planning to travel to India for a short-term visit, an e-visa is an ideal option. The e-visa is valid for 30 days, one year, or five years, depending on the country of origin. There are several types of e-visas available in India, including medical and conference visas.

It is not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted/Cantonment areas

If you have a valid passport and plan to visit India within 6 months, you can apply for an eVisa. However, it is not convertible or extendable and is not valid for visiting Cantonment areas or Protected/Restricted Areas. You must apply at least eight weeks before the date you intend to visit.

Protected/Restricted/Cantonsment areas are areas that have been designated as a part of India and have certain rules and regulations that restrict foreigners’ access. For instance, non-Indian citizens cannot enter Northeast India without a Protected Area Permit. In these areas, they are only allowed to enter and exit by air.

Protected/Restricted/Cantonsment areas are governed by the Foreigners (Restricted Areas) Act, which prohibits foreigners from visiting them. Non-Indian citizens must obtain an Inner Line Permit (IRP) from a competent authority. This permit can be obtained from the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indian Mission abroad, or the Foreigners Regional Registration Office.

It is non-refundable

The Indian visa fee is non-refundable and you must pay it before you can apply for your visa. The government website clearly states this fact. This means that if you make a mistake on your application, you cannot get a refund, and you will have to start the process over. Unlike other visas, this fee cannot be transferred or extended. Therefore, you must make sure to fill out the application correctly and be sure to pay the correct amount.

There are some exceptions to this rule. In order to obtain a refund, you must follow certain guidelines. For example, the Visa application form needs to be filled out completely. The same applies to OCI, GEP, Passport, and Renunciation applications. You must also fill out a refund request form if you want to receive a refund.
